A Pup Named Scooby-Doo

After an absence of two years - a few more for Fred and Velma - Scooby and the gang are together again and solving supernatural-flavored mysteries. There's one difference here, however - this series presents the adventures of the sleuths from when they were just little preteen tykes. Shaggy, Fred, Velma, and Daphne are back and pint-sized, and Scooby-Doo himself is a puppy here (hence the title). Since they were yet to own the Mystery Machine (let alone learn to drive), the kids were mainly confined to solving mysteries in their own neighborhood. A neighborhood bully called Red Herring was usually suspected as the culprit behind various goings-on, but he always proved to be... well... not the guilty party, anyway. Oh, and this took place before Scrappy was born. Hooray!

A Pup Named Scooby-Doo continued the next season, but with only eight new episodes intermixed with reruns; however, it would continue showing until 1993. The gang (still sans Scrappy) would return in classic form in What's New, Scooby Doo? starting in 2002.
